The Maryland Republican Party has announced that Annapolis, Maryland has been chosen to host the 2017 Young Republican National Convention. The Convention was awarded last week at the 2015 Young Republican National Convention in Chicago Illinois.
“I am very excited to be bringing a National Republican Organization to Annapolis in 2017,” commented Joe Cluster, MDGOP Executive Director and Co-Chair of the YRNC Annapolis ‘17 Committee. “Annapolis is home to a Republican Mayor, Republican County Executive and Republican Governor and we are happy to showcase our beautiful state capital and our fine Republican leaders to the Young Republicans from across the country,” concluded Cluster.
The Maryland Republican Party, the Mayor, the City of Annapolis and the Maryland Young Republicans have been actively working to bring this convention to Annapolis for the last few months and in early June, they hosted the Young Republican National Federation Site Selection Committee in Annapolis.
Annapolis Mayor Michael Pantelides will serve as Chair of the YRNC Annapolis ‘17 Committee. The convention will be held in August of 2017 and is expected to host over 500 Young Republicans from across the country.
