BGE: 80% Of Power Back On For Customers. Baltimore Gas and Electric said about 20 percent of its customers are still without power as a result of Hurricane Irene, and it’s working hard to get all power back on.BGE reported about 155,800 outages around 6 a.m. Wednesday. Most of those outages were in Baltimore and Anne Arundel counties and Baltimore City.
Men Sought In $11K Heist At Annapolis Mall. Police in Anne Arundel County are looking for several men in connection with the theft of more than $11,000 worth of electronics from the Annapolis Mall.Detectives said five black men walked into the Radio Shack in the mall at about 1:10 p.m. Aug. 15, and several of the men distracted store employees while two others went into a storage area and stole the items.
1 Killed, 8 Injured After various Carbon Monoxide Leaks. Generators that have been used to keep power going due to Hurricane Irene at a few homes in the region have killed one person and sickened several others.At an apartment complex in Bowleys Quarters late Monday night, two people were sickened by a carbon monoxide leak, and the fumes could have injured more.
Giordano’s Father: My Son Is Not A Monster. The father of a man being held in Aruba on suspicion of involvement in the disappearance and presumed death of a 35-year-old Maryland woman said his son is “not a monster.” In an interview with NBC’s “Today” show that aired Tuesday, Frank Giordano said his son Gary is a “good human being, who is good to his family” and close with his children.
